Partners Elwood facility is located in the booming Intermodal Port in the heart of Illinois.  With BNSF, UP and CN International container yards located in or near Partners your cargo can be picked up and unloaded within minutes.

Many special services are available from Partners including handling heavy weight container (tri-axle and standard chassis) on our company owned trucks.   Partners can also provide a full array of distribution services for your product.

Partners created a custom bonded area for a client and operated it until the need went away.  This area can be reinstated upon approval of  Homeland Security.  The bonded area at one time consisted of 18,000 square feet in Partners 450,000 square foot facility.  After the clients needs were met the area was repurposed.  The services can be reinstalled if needed.

Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)

In addition to the basic movement of your products, we can handle your customs requirements. Our Elwood facility is in both a United States Customs Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and has a Container Freight Station (CFS) designation. Our FTZ and CFS services can speed access to your products, avoid container detention, and allow a wide variety of services to be performed prior to any duties being paid.

What is a Foreign Trade Zone?

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) are treated, for purposes of the tariff laws and customs entry procedures, as being outside of the United States. Under FTZ procedures, foreign and domestic merchandise may be admitted into zones for operations such as storage, exhibition, assembly, manufacturing and processing without being subject to formal customs entry procedures, the payment of custom duties or the payment of federal excise taxes.
